Theatre
Theatre Arts studies offer students the opportunity for self-discovery, whether through acting, playwriting, design, or technical theatre. The process of creating together builds a strong sense of community that fosters deep teaching and learning. As the district embraces the Common Core and National Core Arts Standards, we are committed to deepening networking and support structures for all students, as well as providing common threads for scaffolded theatre curricula from kindergarten through high school. Professional development offerings are artist-centered and content-specific, allowing us to share best practices, resources, concerns, and challenges in a confidential, safe group of peers. All theatre teachers are invited to join us in this collaborative effort to increase access to quality theatre arts experiences in the Boston Public Schools.
