There is a world of dance happening in BPS. Led by an intensely proficient and wonderfully diverse group of teachers, dance students engage in profound learning experiences aimed at developing dance proficiency and deepening cultural awareness. The dance curriculum calls for teachers to develop sophisticated and developmentally appropriate choreography that challenges our students, while fostering success. As the district embraces the Common Core and National Core Arts Standards, our goal is to create a shared catalog of dances at all levels that allow students to demonstrate essential dance skills and make connections across content areas. All dance teachers are invited to join in this collaborative effort to ensure that dance remains a viable and practiced art for BPS students.
